Salary: £55,000 to £75,000 (dependent on experience)

A leading international law firm is seeking an Associate (1-3 years PQE) to join its specialist Employment Practices Litigation (EPL) team in Bristol. Sitting within the firm's highly regarded Insurance Group, this is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high value and varied EPL and professional indemnity matters for major insurers, professional services firms and corporate clients.

The Role
You will work closely with Partners and senior lawyers in a vibrant, growing team, handling a diverse and challenging caseload. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of EPL claims for leading Professional Indemnity Insurers and their insureds
  • Advising insurers on policy coverage issues, including D&O and management liability policies
  • Handling claims from pre litigation through to fully contested proceedings
  • Delivering high quality, timely advice aligned with client expectations and service level agreements
  • Contributing to team development, including training, process improvements and knowledge sharing
  • Supporting business development initiatives and client relationship activity
  • Capturing and collating Management Information in line with client requirements


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a motivated and technically strong lawyer with:

  • Circa 1-3 years PQE with experience managing EPL or employment litigation claims
  • A solid grounding in employment law and tribunal procedures
  • Insurance experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong understanding of litigation processes and case management
  • Ability to deliver commercial, pragmatic solutions to clients
  • Confidence in building trusted client relationships and working collaboratively
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal IT systems
  • A commitment to contributing to a supportive, inclusive and collaborative team culture
