Professional Indemnity Associate (NQ-4 PQE) - Bristol
Leading International Law Firm
The Role
A leading international law firm is seeking an Associate to join its highly regarded Professional & Financial Risks (PFR) team in Bristol. This is a chance to work within a top ranked practice that advises the majority of major Professional Indemnity insurers as well as a number of large professional services firms.
You'll handle a broad mix of professional indemnity matters involving solicitors, insurance brokers, accountants, financial advisers and other professionals. Work spans defending liability claims (pre and post litigation), advising on regulatory issues, risk management, Ombudsman complaints and policy coverage. Case values range from tens of thousands to multi million pound disputes, offering genuine variety and challenge.
You'll work closely with Partners and senior lawyers who are recognised experts in the field, gaining hands on experience, autonomy and exposure to high quality work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing your own caseload of professional indemnity claims, including coverage issues.
- Delivering high quality, timely advice aligned with client expectations and service standards.
- Working collaboratively with Partners and colleagues on complex, high value matters.
Candidate Requirements
- NQ-4 PQE, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong litigation background; professional indemnity or insurance experience is helpful but not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage shifting priorities.
- Interest in business development and growing your professional network.
Candidates with general litigation experience who have a genuine interest in professional indemnity work are encouraged to apply.
Why Join?
This firm is known for its supportive, people first culture where staff wellbeing is prioritised.
You'll benefit from:
- A clear and transparent career progression framework.
- Opportunities to work with leading Partners and specialists in the field.
- A diverse, high quality caseload with real responsibility from the outset.
- A culture that values flexibility, hybrid working and work life balance.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a thriving, top tier team where you can develop your expertise, progress your career and enjoy a genuinely supportive working environment.
