Administrator / Secretary - Property Development

Reading | Salary DOE | Office‑based 4 days per week

I'm working with a well‑established property development legal team in central Reading who are looking for an organised and confident Administrator/Secretary to support one of their Partners and the wider team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast‑paced environment, takes pride in accuracy, and is comfortable being a key point of contact for clients and colleagues.

The role is office‑based four days a week, with some flexibility available.

What they're looking for:

  • At least one year's experience in a legal administrative or secretarial role
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients by phone and email
  • Ability to work independently when needed and stay calm under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail, spelling and grammar
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Quick to respond, proactive and able to manage expectations effectively
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and general IT systems
  • Fast, accurate typing skills

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Experience supporting a property or real estate team
  • Familiarity with Land Registry and SDLT processes

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing correspondence, documents and completion statements
  • Managing Land Registry and SDLT submissions
  • Proof‑reading and formatting documents
  • Assisting with basic finance tasks, including invoices and account checks
  • Managing diaries, inboxes and general scheduling
  • Handling incoming calls and client enquiries
  • Providing day‑to‑day administrative support to the team
  • Working closely with Partners and fee earners

This is a brilliant role for someone who enjoys being the organisational backbone of a busy team and wants to build their experience within property law.
