Construction Associate - Bristol - Non-Contentious - 2+ PQE
Location: Bristol Office (Hybrid & Flexible Working)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours per week)
Salary: £55,000 to £80,000
A leading law firm is seeking an Associate to join its non-contentious Construction team in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a collaborative and inclusive environment, advising a diverse client base across a broad range of construction matters.
The Role
This role involves advising on non-contentious construction law, working both independently and as part of a wider team. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on construction legislation and practice
- Drafting and negotiating JCT and NEC contracts, including bespoke amendments
- Preparing professional consultant appointments
- Drafting collateral warranties, bonds, and guarantees
- Applying contract law and understanding dispute resolution processes
- Supporting clean and renewable energy projects (desirable)
- Collaborating with colleagues across multiple offices
- Delivering exceptional client service and managing multiple deadlines
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a construction lawyer with:
- Demonstrable experience in non-contentious construction law
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Commercial awareness and client-focused mindset
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Organised approach and ability to work at pace
- Interest in business development and client relationship building
